Born in 1976 in Perm, Russia.
 
Graduated from Republican Technology College in 1996, with press photographer's diploma. While studying in the college Yuriy took part in a youth photography workshop meetings, led by photographer Rita Ostrovskaya. From 1999 to 2000 attended workshops of a photographer Jindrich Streit.

From 1993 to 2001 photographer at Reuters and local entertainment media such as "Otdykhai Weekly",  "Dossier Dosuga" and "Look International".

Since 2001 worked as a freelance photographer and cinematographer at the production of fiction and documentary movies, TV spots, musical and corporate videos. 

Was a violin and trumpet player.

Yura died in August 2008.
